Technology business and development can only progress and prosper in societies where people are brave, liberal and progressive, and of course, wise. It is not so important if the governance is of any of the established lines of ideology – left, right or central or any other.
Like the plants and trees, it can grow and give sweet fruits only where it gets free, as in freedom, air – infrastructure and social environment, where pursuit of knowledge is like a religion and competency and positive performance decides job roles. It requires high levels of civil etiquettes, good governance and communication skills, positive environment and sacrifice of petty things for bigger objectives.
It can never prosper and succeed in regions and cultures which keep a myopic world view, are toxic dumps loaded with politics which scuttles leadership and initiative instead of governance, believe ignorance and regression is bliss and denounce globalization and changes in its entirety instead of finding their place in it.
All of these adjectives and much more have been heard before and the most important condition for any essentially change causing development is equity or fairness and justice.
Like all tools, technology is just a tool, how we use it is defined by our own sense of ethics, values and intention. Hence it is important that strong, just and positive values are imbibed before embracing any new technology so the organization is equipped to positively cope with the changes it brings.
Thus the technology business mindset of an organization defines how a particular technology is going to be effective for its positive success, larger good and growth.
